溫斯頓·倫納德·斯賓塞·邱吉爾(Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill,1874年11月30日-1965年1月24日),英國政治家、歷史學家、畫家、演說家、作家、記者,出身于貴族家庭,父親藍道夫勳爵曾任英國財政大臣。

溫斯頓·倫納德·斯賓塞·邱吉爾1874年生於英格蘭牛津郡伍德斯托克。1940年至1945年和1951年至1955年兩度出任英國首相,被認為是20世紀最重要的政治領袖之一,領導英國人民贏得了第二次世界大戰,是“雅爾達會議三巨頭”之一,戰後發表《鐵幕演說》,正式揭開了美蘇冷戰的序幕。

他寫的《不需要的戰爭》獲1953年諾貝爾文學獎,著有《第二次世界大戰回憶錄》16卷、《英語民族史》24卷等。邱吉爾是歷史上掌握英語單詞數量最多的人之一(十二萬多),被美國雜誌《人物》列為近百年來世界最有說服力的八大演說家之一,曾榮獲諾貝爾和平獎提名。從1929年到1965年,連續36年擔任英國布裡斯托大學校長。 2002年,BBC舉行了一個名為“最偉大的100名英國人”的調查,結果邱吉爾獲選為有史以來最偉大的英國人。
